Samsung will activate the FM radio chip in all its phones
Samsung has confirmed that it will activate the FM radio chip in all its phones in the United States and Canada, in cooperation with the NextRadio application.
Most of the smart phones in the market have a radio-frequency chip, which is disabled by companies because of the technology. But because of some recent changes, companies have begun to come back to use them to provide new solutions to users.
Data consumption can be saved by 20% when using radio waves to transmit content instead of the Internet. Battery consumption is also three times lower. These waves can also be used to post messages in emergency situations where networks stop transmitting signals.
As a result, Samsung users will be able to listen to radio broadcasts via NextRadio without restrictions. That's a step LG took in 2017.
