|Intel Unveils 8th gen Core i9 Processor for Laptops|
If you want extreme performance for tough tasks like 4K video editing, you probably will not use a laptop, but Intel wants to break this rule through its latest processors of the eighth generation which carries the Core i9 category where it is geared specifically for fans of games and video editing and difficult tasks on laptops.
The new processor is based on the Coffee Lake platform and offers 41% more frames per second while playing and performing better and 59% faster in video editing applications than older generations of the processor.
Of course, the processor comes with several options, names and specifications as the top is called i9-8950HK and comes in six nuclei and 12 processing lines up to 4.8 GHz, a specification we see for the first time from Intel portable computers processors.
The processor supports Intel's new random-chip technology Optane which allows using a memory chip, to speed up disk boot time and run applications similar to using SSDs compared to a HDD.
Intel did not mention the expected time frame to start selling these processors and her priced, but it will provide them to the computer manufacturers later this year, and of course it will not be cheap.
Intel announced the same processor for desktop computers last year, and it is interesting to see the giant processors want to deliver their best productions on the portable platform.
